Patrick & I try to keep things varied, so, after having last posted about Frankie Morello let us turn to the Aigner show, which couldn't have been more different even if it tried...
As a leather-ware brand with a Germanic-American background, Aigner first showed in Milan in 2003. At the AW12 show almost a decade later, leather goods were still an important part of the womenswear show, as was the Aigner custom of combining innovation with tradition. The clothes were classic & sleek, with occasional twists such as a fur dress or shoulderless sleeved dresses, a balance which was echoed further in the bags and shoes.
This was certainly not a case of a sporty American school-girl's  head-on-collision with grunge...
