As Milan PhotoFestival is slowly coming to a close, an excursion to PHOTOGRAPHIA was called for to see their exhibition AB PUNK POSITIVO. (until the 26th of May).

The photographs on show document the origins of Punk with vivid portraits of Patti Smith, The Sex Pistols, The Clash and Siouxsie, to name but a few. The forerunners who shaped the imagery, style and spirit of Punk are captured by all the great rock photographers of the 70s, notably with work by Janette Beckman, Sheila Rock ad Jorgen Angel on show. The original visual imagery and style of punk that still trickles throughout culture nowadays is shown in a light that reveals the invidual and the energy behind the imagery.

In parallel with the exhibition a short collection of interviews were done throughout Milan, just one question: "What is punk nowadays?". I'd been interviewed during MFW and had completely forgotten about it, until the oh god moment when I saw myself struggling to formulate a sentence in Italian on the TV screen in the gallery. For your eyes only...
