Austerity and minamilism are de mise at Giuliano Fujiwara: with Masataka Matsumura's influence, over the past few years the brand has definitely had an influx of young energy ; the a/w menswear collection had an urban edge to it that breathed youth.
Matsumura took inspiration from the Inuit cultures of Canada ; ensued a palette of wood greens, grey blues, various hues of greys and the odd splash of vibrant primary red and yellows. Materials were selected in respect of the general collection with leather inserts and wool blends worthy of any Canadian winter.
A strongpoint of the collection were the silhouettes: what with droopey shoulders, fitted pencil leg trousers and the odd man skirt, a Japanese influence was evident.
Accessories wise, the 'heavy shoes' were eye-catching delights, blending loafer style shoes with chunky moutain boots. Someone not copying the Prada heavy shoe! What's not to love?
Man clutch! you didn't think I'd let the subject drop, did you?Patrick
