ILLUMINations

Chance - Boltanski

Nairy Baghramian
Dotted Line - Gabriel Kuri

I had the opportunity to go and see the Biennale at Venice before it closes ( 27th November... hurry!) and was delighted with the  impressive turnout of artists and discoveries that it offered.

The giardini, which was where we went, host the main part - around a central exhibition space are clustered various pavillions from various countries. Particularly worthwhile and compelling were the Swiss, German, French and Swedish pavillions. The French pavillion was entirely occupied by an installation intitled 'Chance' by Christian Boltanski (2nd pic) and was a really impressive feature.

If you have the chance - go go go. The giardini are set in a beautiful location, on the seafront just a boat's ride/hop away from all the big posh tourist things, so as you come out you'll be treated to the sun setting over the Venetian lagoon...
well,  we were at least...!
