Long long lengths

The couture shows have definitely served to confirm what we all knew: long lengths!

Elie Saab

Jean Paul Gaultier

Valentino

And as long lengths go, the couture shows went for the light & flowing with laciness, organza, and sheers, whether in nude tones, black or the occasional splash of red.
Styles, meanwhile, varied from victorian at Elie Saab, to punk at Jean Paul Gaultier.
Where I think they all came together was with the idea that length is not about hiding the body, but about highlighting its grace by hinting at the body & allowing glimpses of it through all that delicate fabric.

  5. The longer dresses are so elegant and ladylike - but not really very practical for a teenage party girl consumer!

  13. long is a winner on the runway. A long dress just moves so much better than a short one.
